Monica has worked in financial aid and higher education since 2012 and currently leads as the Director of Financial Aid at Dallas Baptist University, a private four-year Christian institution. She has served as Director of Financial Aid at two different Texas private universities, giving her a broad perspective on the financial aid landscape and a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by private institutions in Texas.
Her commitment to TASFAA is longstanding. She previously served as TASFAA Treasurer for three years, ensuring the association’s financial compliance and transparency. In addition, she has contributed to the Governance Committee and is set to assume the role of Chair in the upcoming year.
Monica is deeply passionate about Christian higher education and is a dedicated advocate for the unique needs of private universities across the state. She believes TASFAA plays a vital role in supporting all institutions and is eager to be a voice on the board that champions collaboration, innovation, and equitable policy across its diverse membership.
After a year that has stretched and challenged financial aid professionals in unprecedented ways, Monica brings a spirit of empathy, shared experience, and deep respect for the resilience of her colleagues. She is committed to listening well, representing others faithfully, and working together to meet the needs of students and institutions alike.
